Introduction to Word




The course is designed for delegates who have no prior knowledge or a limited knowledge of Word. At the end of the course delegates will be able to create and print professional looking documents containing character and paragraph formatting.  In addition, they will be able to save, open, edit and delete files.

The course covers:

  • The Word window
  • Using help
  • Creating a new document; using a template
  • Saving documents; saving with a new file name
  • Using the spell checker
  • Printing, opening and closing documents
  • Editing documents
  • Selecting text
  • Adding character formatting (bold, italics, underlining,
    point sizes, etc)
  • Moving and copying text (cut, copy & paste; drag & drop)
  • Alignment of text (centre, left, right and justified)
  • Indenting text and line spacing
  • Simple numbered and bulleted lists
  • Using AutoCorrect options and AutoFormat as you Type Page layout and page breaks
  • Basic file management Use help
