We are pleased to offer the AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting qualification. This qualification is ideal for those students who wish to develop their bookkeeping and accounting skills and knowledge to an advanced level and pursue a career in bookkeeping, accounting or finance. This qualification is a natural progression from the Foundation Certificate in Accounting to either help you gain employment into a bookkeeping or accounting role, or onto further study.
This qualification starts to look at the more complex and specialist bookkeeping skills as well as developing a student’s costing techniques. It will look at VAT from a business perspective and ethical practices for accountants. It also incorporates software skills through spreadsheet training for accounting. The course is comprised of six mandatory modules:
- Advanced Bookkeeping
- Final Accounts Preparation
- Indirect Tax
- Management Accounting: Costing
- Ethics for Accountants
- Spreadsheets for Accounting
The accountancy skills developed through this qualification will enable you to seek employment with confidence and/or to progress to the next level of learning. Completion of this qualification provides you with an opportunity to be registered as a qualified bookkeeper, or progress onto the Professional Diploma Level and become a full member of AAT (we will be offering this from Summer 2020). Upon achieving your qualification, you can set yourself up as a self-employed bookkeeper, or alternatively, choose from the following job roles: Accounts assistant; accounts payable and expenses supervisor; accounts payable clerk; assistant accountant; audit trainee; credit controller; finance assistant; finance officer; payroll supervisor; professional bookkeeper; senior bookkeeper; tax assistant. ETS can arrange for our consultant, Emma Grant MAAT CPFA to contact you for further discussion and to assess which qualification is appropriate for you.
