Who We Are
Education and Training Skills (‘we’ or ‘us’ or ‘our’) gather and process your personal information in accordance with this privacy notice and in compliance with the relevant data protection Regulation and law. This notice provides you with the necessary information regarding your rights and obligations, and explains how, why and when we collect and process your personal data.
Education and Training Skills registered office is at ETS House Exeter and Truro and we are a company registered in England and Wales under company number 1862892. How We Use Your Personal Data (Legal Basis for Processing)
Education and Training Skills takes your privacy very seriously and will never disclosure, share or sell your data without your consent, unless required to do so by law. We only retain your data for as long as is necessary and for the purposes specified in this notice. Where you have consented to us providing you with promotional offers and marketing, you are free to withdraw such consent at any time. The purposes and reasons for processing your personal data are detailed below: –

- We may collect and store your personal data as part of our legal obligation for business accounting and tax purposes
- The information you supply may be used by the Education and Skills Funding Agency, an executive agency of the Department for Education (DfE), to issue you with a Unique Learner Number (ULN) and to create your Personal Learning Record, as part of the functions of the DfE. You have the right to access any personal information that Education and Training Skills processes in order to:
- ask us for access to information about you that we hold
- have your personal data rectified, if it is inaccurate or incomplete
- request the deletion or removal of personal data where there is no compelling reason for its continued processing
- restrict our processing of your personal data (i.e. permitting its storage but no further processing)
- object to direct marketing (including profiling) and processing for the purposes of scientific/historical research and statistics
- not to be subject to decisions based purely on automated processing where it produces a legal or similarly significant effect on you
If you believe that we hold any incomplete or inaccurate data about you, you have the right to ask us to correct and/or complete the information and we will strive to update/correct it as quickly as possible, unless there is a valid reason for not doing so, at which point you will be notified.

Education and Training Skills takes your privacy seriously and take every reasonable measure and precaution to protect and secure your personal data. You are not obligated to provide your personal information to Education and Training Skills, however, as this information is required for us to provide you with our services/deliver your products/legitimate interests, we will not be able to offer some/all of our products or services without it.
How Long We Keep Your Data
Education and Training Skills only ever retains personal information for as long as is necessary and we have strict review and retention policies in place to meet these obligations. We are required under UK tax law to keep your basic personal data (name, address, contact details) for a minimum of 6 years after which time it will be destroyed. However, for European Social Funding purposes we are required to keep personal data up to the year 2030.
Data held by the ESFA which is stored in your Personal Learning Record is retained for 66 years. The ESFA may need to keep your other personal information, where held, indefinitely for research and statistical purposes. Records will be destroyed after being held for the legislated period of time required by the ESFA.
Where you have consented to us using your details for direct marketing, we will keep such data until you notify us otherwise and withdraw your consent.
Special Categories Data (if applicable)
Owing to the products and services that we offer, Education and Training Skills sometimes need to request sensitive personal information from you to such as learning difficulties and disabilities. Where we collect sensitive personal data, we will only request the information required for the specified purpose and always ask for your explicit consent through a signature. You can modify or remove consent at any time, which we will act on immediately, unless there is a legitimate interest or legal reason for not doing so.

Occasionally, Education and Training Skills would like to contact you with details of the products/offers/services that we provide.
