Policy Statement

It is Education + Training Skills’ (ETS) policy to make it clear, fair and equitable to employers and learners in identifying the financial contributions and payments that are required to participate in our training programmes. Although we adopt a market-driven approach to setting fee and charge levels for programmes of learning, they are set at a favourable rate to our customers.

Principles

These principles extend to all areas of charging for teaching, learning and assessment activities of commercial and funded training, consultancy and miscellaneous activities. In some instances, an activity supported by Government funding may have specific terms different from ETS’ course cancellation policy; these will take precedence.

Payment of fees and charges

All fees and charges are to be agreed prior to commencement of the programme and will include, if applicable, all fees for registration, verification, certification, e-portfolio, resources and Tutor fees. Fees and charges are not refundable except where ETS has cancelled a course and in accordance with the terms set out below; there is a justifiable complaint or in the case of exceptional personal circumstances, this will only be granted with authorisation of the SMT or in their absence then the CEO.

Short Courses (Commercial)

Standard fees are set for ETS’s commercial Continuous Professional Development workshops or Accredited Qualification Courses and delivery and payment for attendance at these courses are invoiced and required prior to the course start date.

Other Activities

Fees for any other teaching, learning, assessment and consultancy activities, which fall outside of the above, are dependent on individual customer requirements. ETS has the discretion to negotiate particular arrangements with customers and other sponsors for bulk training.

Cancellations/ Transfers

Places on our courses are limited so we therefore must operate a cancellation policy.

Once we have confirmed in writing, via email or letter, your place on the Continuous Professional Development workshop or Accredited Qualification Course you will be liable for the whole fee unless we receive written notification, via email or letter, of cancellation.

Please note that receipt of notification of cancellation will be confirmed, via email or letter, – if you do not receive confirmation of cancellation, please contact us again within 3 working days.

  • For bookings cancelled more than 15 working days before a course is due to start, 100% per cent of the Continuous Professional Development workshop or Accredited Qualification Course fees paid will be refunded to the applicant.
  • For bookings cancelled between 15 working days and 6 working days of the due course date 50% of the Continuous Professional Development workshop or Accredited Qualification Course fees paid will be refunded to the applicant.
  • No refund will be made for bookings cancelled less than 5 working days before the event, except in exceptional circumstances and then only at the discretion of the SMT.
  • No refund of course fees will be given after the course commencement.
  • No refund will be made for non-attendance on the course.
  • We will do our utmost to accommodate a reasonable request for a learner wishing to change the date of a course. All change of bookings requests must be in writing, via email or letter, at least 15 working days before a course, except in exceptional circumstances and then only at the discretion of the SMT.

All payments will become non-returnable once the change has been confirmed (unless the course is cancelled by ETS, see below).

Course changes by us

We reserve the right to cancel or amend course dates in the event of minimum numbers for a course not being met, without prior notification.

In the event that we are left with no alternative but to cancel a Continuous Professional Development workshop or Accredited Qualification Course, we will endeavour to inform all participants at the earliest opportunity and wherever possible within 5 working days of the date the course is due to take place, although please be aware that this is not always possible.

We will offer all learners a re-arranged course date and time.  However if this does not meet the customer needs then fees paid will be reimbursed in full.  Please note we are unable to reimburse any other costs that may have been incurred, including travel, accommodation etc.

Government Funded Training

Government funding is limited and ETS can only claim funding once a learner has attended and completed their course.

Once we have confirmed in writing, via email or letter, your place on an Government Funded Continuous Professional Development workshop or Accredited Qualification Course you will be liable for a fee unless we receive written notification, via email or letter, of cancellation.

Please note that receipt of notification of cancellation will be confirmed, via email or letter, – if you do not receive confirmation of cancellation please contact us again within 5 working days.

  • For a Funded Continuous Professional Development workshop or Accredited Qualification Course cancelled more than 15 working days before a course is due to start, there will be a nil charge to the customer.
  • For a Funded Continuous Professional Development workshop or Accredited Qualification Course cancelled between 15 working days and 6 working days of the course due date 50% of the funding will be charged to the customer per Cancellation Fees List.
  • For a Funded Continuous Professional Development workshop or Accredited Qualification Course cancelled less than 5 working days before the event, 100% of the funding will be charged to the customer per the Cancellation Fees List, except in exceptional circumstances and then only at the discretion of the SMT.

Fee Remissions
