|Who is it for? Cleaning covers a variety of job roles within a wide range of settings, such as hospitals, schools, factories, offices and shopping centres. Job titles could be Hygiene Operative, Facilities Operative, Specialist Cleaner, Food Premises Cleaner, Window Cleaner, and Passenger Transport Valet.
The Intermediate Apprenticeship in Cleaning and Support Services is an excellent way to gain an industry-recognised qualification, proving competence within your job role. The programme consists of six components which need to be completed in order to achieve the Apprenticeship Framework. These are:
- Level 2 Certificate in Cleaning and Support Services Skills
- Level 2 Certificate in Cleaning Principles
- Functional Skills in English and Mathematics
- Employee Rights and Responsibilities
- Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (embedded throughout the Apprenticeship)
The Level 2 Certificate is vocationally based and will be assessed in the workplace. This includes both knowledge and competence units.
Functional Skills are not just about knowledge in English and Mathematics; they are also about knowing when and how to use the knowledge in real life situations.
