Outstanding Commitment to Training
NHS Devon manages community hospitals, health centres and works with GPs, dentists, and pharmacies to ensure the best services. It also commissions inpatient treatment, outpatient appointments and diagnostic tests at acute hospitals.
NHS Devon invests in all staff development, working with ETS to develop Administration and Management Skills. To date NHS Devon has placed 101 learners on Apprenticeships, Advanced Apprenticeships and NVQs in Customer Service, Administration, ITQ, Team Leading and Management. To date there have been 29 achievers of Apprenticeships/Advanced Apprenticeships with another 39 in-learning. 11 learners achieved Skills for Life Adult Numeracy and Literacy qualifications, with another 5 staff working towards Skills for Life. 4 learners achieved NVQs through Train to Gain with 4 currently in-learning. One learner is working towards their Assessor Award. One learner achieved Administration NVQ at Level 4. One learner achieved Administration Technical Certificate. One learner is working towards Management Level 5 NVQ with Action Learning Sets. Success rates overall are an outstanding 90.2%
The fantastic success rates are a reflection of the dedicated staff; the support offered by HR and internal staff across the trust, and careful progress monitoring ETS. NHS Devon supports staff to access training, encouraging participation and allowing day release to attend programmes.

NHS Devon also recently advertised vacancies for Administration Apprentices and are developing the skills of 12 staff through 13-month Apprenticeship contracts.
